What is Mosaic?
Mosaic is a portfolio-building app designed to help users learn while gaining project experience. It generates personalized, AI-powered project briefs that simulate industry challenges.
Many early creatives struggle to build a strong portfolio without real-world experience or clear direction. Mosaic solves this by providing guided, skill-matched project briefs that help users stay motivated, improve their skills, and build work they’re proud to showcase.

User Persona
We created detailed user personas to better understand our target audience — aspiring creatives who want to build portfolios but often feel lost or overwhelmed.
Jeevan, a first-year design student, represents our core user: motivated but unsure where to begin. His needs helped us prioritize features like clear navigation, dark mode, guided prompts, and a clean dashboard. This persona guided both our UX structure and overall tone of the app.

Lo-Fi Wireframes
We started with Lo-Fi wireframes to map out the core user flow and screen structure. These helped us focus on layout, functionality, and navigation without getting distracted by visual details. Feedback from early testing at this stage allowed us to make several changes to improve clarity.

Hi-Fi Wireframes
Once the structure was solid, we moved onto Hi-Fi wireframes. These screens focused on accessibility, visual design and consistency. I implemented features like Dark Mode and Colour Blind Mode, refined the UI components, and aligned the final designs with our user persona’s needs and preferences.

User Avatars
I created a set of user avatars, called Gems, to give Mosaic a playful yet minimal identity. Each gem represents a different creative energy or user archetype, adding personality to the profile experience without overwhelming the interface. The designs were intentionally simple to match the overall UI style.

Screen Graphics
To support the onboarding flow and quiz screens, I designed graphics that provide visual engagement through the process. These illustrations were built to be light, clear, and consistent with Mosaic’s identity.

Usability Testing
We conducted both Lo-Fi and Hi-Fi usability testing to identify friction points in the user flow and gather feedback on clarity, accessibility, and visual hierarchy.
I helped write test questions, led multiple user sessions, and compiled the final usability report. These insights directly shaped the final version of the app.
